- An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture will be visible to the public.
- Anonymous messages
When someone sends a member an anonymous message, we store the message together with the sender’s IP address, browser details and language setting. We use these only to stop spam and abuse, and to act on reports. The member who receives the message never sees them.

Our site provides a messaging system for registered and non-registered users. Messages sent between users may be stored securely on our servers and monitored to prevent abuse or misuse.
- Messages are checked automatically before they are delivered: a message with a link or a blocked word is refused. We read a message only when the member reports it, or when required for technical or lawful purposes. Members can report a message or pause new messages at any time. Similar to comments, your IP address, cookies, or other data may be collected while sending a message.
- Users can also send messages anonymously.
